The Estate

The Estate is a 350-hectare dehesa (grassland) located along the slopes of the Sierra Morena in the northeastern part of the province of Jaén.

Found in the heart of a Spanish fighting bull ranch, here you can get to know the bulls and horses on the estate, spend time with them, and even participate in caring for them.

Feed and check on the cattle, corral the calves, pen the cows and lock the pens. Witness horseshoeing, fighting bull selection, and learn how to bullfight both with and without a bull present, always in the presence of ranchers, breeders, and bullfighters excited to explain the ins and outs of what they are most passionate about.

Other activities:

  • Walk among the oak trees and follow paths to nearby lakes to go fishing, sailing or canoeing.
  • Spot deer, foxes, birds of prey, calves, goats, cows and sheep while walking the environs. In autumn, you have deer mating season. In the spring, flowers and rabbit kits abound.
  • Go hunting – El Añadío is a private hunting ground.

The House

All of our living spaces have been respectfully and skillfully restored from their original constructions with materials from the property itself. Done so by the former ranch overseers and cattle handlers, each one is unique and has its own charm, just like the people of the surrounding countryside.

Communal areas and services made exclusively available to our guests:

Dining room where we serve our traditional and homemade “mother’s recipes,” a wood-fired oven, lounges furnished with fireplaces, a small specialized library, a pool with stunning panoramic views and a snack bar, patios and gardens where you can unwind or even take a nap, field houses for gatherings, stables for your horses and ours, bullpens, and corrals.
Enjoy a relaxing evening by the fireside, in our gardens, on our porches, or with the cool sound of water bubbling in our fountains as you immerse yourself in a good book from the specialized library available to our guests.

In the summer, how about a dip in the pool and a beer at the outdoor bar?  Or hang out on the porch as long as you want!

  • If you bring a dog, please make sure it doesn’t cause any damage. You won’t be able to enter the restaurant. In the rooms you must sleep in your own little bed. Outside, please keep your dog on a leash and make sure that it does not disturb other people or animals, especially wild cattle, which could cause any unwanted risk.
